The Track Robot is similar to the devices used by police and military to defuse explosives. Using a tetherless control and video transmission system the Track Robot can be operated remotely through a standard internet browser window. It has been outfitted with a 'gentle claw' and 2-way audio video capability to allow remote users at Moscone to grab at and interact with pedestrians live via the robot while moving among them in an undisclosed downtown location.
